Hotmail (the email service, not the hotmail people search service) was established in 1995 by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith. The corporate site was officially launched on the Forth of July, 1996, and was unique in the concept of allowing access to your email account from anywhere in the world. This flexibility proved to be very popular among users, and shortly after Microsoft Corporation purchased the system.
As the Hotmail email service continued to grow (over 200 million users by 2005), the need to connect with people across the network increased as well. The term Hotmail People Search refers to the process of doing a hotmail.com people search. It’s been written that “Hotmail People” tend to want to be found by others, so a hotmail search is a logical choice to find a email address.
The problem seems to be that most email address finder services and email address directory locators just don’t have the sophisticated data mining programs to search people just from a hotmail email address. There are a few reverse email lookup sites that promise results, I’ll check them and post back here later.
